Who Said you Can't Travel with a Cat

We have travelled for years on and off in a caravan around Australia a few times and yes, we have seen people successfully travelling with cats.

Some actually walk them on leads, the same way that you walk a dog.

Be Prepared

Before you even think of travelling anywhere with a cat, have him checked out with your local Vet. Make sure it is fully vaccinated.

Prepare the cat, and make sure you take him on short rides first, before embarking on a long trip.

He will need to be comfortable and properly and securely contained in a cat carrier.  This also comes with a security leash so your fluffy pussy cat cannot escape.   This is only for crate-trained pets only, as it would possibly scare the ones not used to travelling in one.  It measures  45-1/4”L x 17-1/4”W x 18-3/4”h

It could as in the picture hold two cats.

Puddy cat also needs somewhere nice and cozy to sleep. This is a lovely anti skid cat bed that can be used for both cat and small dogs.  Its rabbit velvet fabric has a calming affect with it soft cotton giving them warmth and comfort.  It is comes in light pink.

This looks lovely and soft
Now we need a security harness so we can take him for a toilet walk in the sunshine. This is an adjustable escape proof cat or even your rabbit harness. Colourful night safe pet harness with a reflective strap for your little kitten.  It is Blue and Pink in colour.

This one will keep him or her safe.
Like us, they still need something to play with as they watch us relax so how about a couple of toys to play with. Like this interactive Indoor toy to keep him amused with it 360-degree Self spinning toy that runs on an electric motor that rotates the butterfly clockwise to keep the cats, attention with curiosity and excitement.
This butterfly can reflect in the dark because of the special lightning butterfly arm. It take 3x AA alkaline batteries that are not included when you buy this.

When traveling with a cat they may be anxious and nervous so you will need to prepare him before travelling. Make sure that he is used to sitting in his crate well before you go on your travels.
If he is nervous then there is something that may help to relax your little ball of fluff. This is called
Pet Naturals   Cats will love these chews that help keep them calm and stress free while traveling.
They will keep your cat relaxed and calm, and they are recommended for stressful situations, like vet treatments, boarding kennels and even the odd thunderstorm that is if you know one is coming.
Dosage can be doubled if required as this is not a sedative.
Wherever you travel with your cat remember to train him/her to use the crate so they are comfortable and accept as part of the normal everyday event.

Feeding and Toilet Training

Always feed your cat first and then take it for a good walk to allow it to do its toilet business before being put into the crate.   I hope that this article will help you and your cat have a love trip in the car.
